Job summary

Prisma Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in preparing for and supporting operative procedures. You will work as part of the surgical team, maintain aseptic technique, and assist with instrument counts and specimen care.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a Surgical Technology program or Surgical Technologist training in the U.S. Armed Forces.
• No previous experience required.
• Maintains CST certification and 15 hours annually of ST education.

Responsibilities

• Assists in care of patients of all ages before, during and after surgical procedures as a member of the surgical team.
• Assists the surgical team during operative procedures and maintains aseptic technique.
• Keeps accurate counts of instruments, needles and sponges; assists with specimens.
• Cares for drugs and solutions under RN direction; maintains sterility and hospital safety standards.
• Cleans and prepares rooms between procedures and assists with room turnover.
• Participates in quality improvement activities and completes annual required education.
