Prisma Health in Greenville, SC is seeking a Surgical Technologist (CST) to assist in the care of patients before, during and after surgery as part of the operating room team. You will perform scrub duties, maintain aseptic technique, and participate in education and quality improvement activities.

The role requires a Diploma in Surgical Technology and CST certification, with NBSTSA/NCCT accepted if ST was employed in SC before 2008 or completed a ST military training program.

Competenze

• Diploma in Surgical Technology is required.
• CST certification required; NBSTSA/NCCT accepted if ST prior to 2008 or military ST training.

Mansioni

• Prepares for surgical procedures by collecting necessary supplies and instruments according to Surgeon Preference Card.
• Prepares the OR for cases by opening sterile supplies, setting up table, and arranging instruments.
• Assists the surgical team during procedures; maintains instrument/needle/sponges counts; handles specimens and drugs under RN direction.
• Cleans and preps rooms between procedures and performs daily end-of-day cleanup; returns unused items to storage.
• Maintains aseptic technique; monitors for breaches and takes corrective action.
• Completes annual age-specific accountabilities.
• Completes 15 hours of ST continuing education yearly (Jan 1–Dec 1).
