Job summary

Roper St. Francis Healthcare is seeking a certified Surgical Technologist to join the Operating Room team at Berkeley Hospital. You will prepare and maintain sterile fields, assist surgeons, and provide instruments and supplies during procedures.

The role requires certification (CST/NBSTSA/NCCT), an associate degree or equivalent, and BLS. On-call duties and night shifts are part of the schedule, with opportunities for professional growth and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or vocational certificate in Surgical Technology required.
• Certification as CST/NBSTSA/TS-C or NCCT required.
• BLS certification required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Functions as the scrub person and assists during operative procedures by assembling supplies and equipment.
• Prepares sterile supplies and instruments and performs surgical counts with the circulating RN.
• Maintains an organized sterile field and assists with sterile drapes and instrument delivery.
• Retrieves and labels specimens and reports implanted devices, catheters, and drains.
• Assists with pre- and post-procedure cleaning of the operating room and instruments.
• Participates in staff orientation and ongoing competency verification.
• Provides patient safety care measures and participates in on-call coverage.
