Job summary

Qualifications

• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA/NCCT/AAHA)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Utilizes quality aseptic technique in sterile/non-sterile OR roles.
• Assists circulating RN to maintain a sterile field and monitor technique.
• Performs sponge, instrument, and needle counts with circulating RN.
• Assists with gowning/gloving and positioning equipment.
• Passes sterile instruments to surgical team during procedures.
• Operates specialty equipment after training.
• Assists with transportation and patient positioning.
• Prepares supplies and equipment per preference cards and performs equipment checks.
• Assists with sterilization and maintenance of supplies and equipment.
• Monitors inventory, orders, and restocks.
• Removes out-of-date items and discards or reprocesses per guidelines.
• Assists with department cleaning, clerical tasks, and data gathering.
• Prepares and updates preference cards and instrument trays.
• Records patient charges accurately.
