Job summary

Ferrous Processing and Trading, a business of Cleveland-Cliffs Steel, seeks a Night Shift Supervisor for our SLC Recycling Industries site in Warren, MI. You will lead and coordinate the nightly operations, assign tasks, ensure materials and equipment are ready, and uphold safety and production standards.

The role requires supervisory experience, strong communication, and the ability to coach and mentor, with proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Previous supervisor experience required.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical and decision-making abilities.
• Collaborative and able to work with teams.
• Ability to coach and mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Assigns and schedules daily tasks and workloads to meet production goals.
• Ensures materials, equipment, and tools are available and in working order.
• Confers with plant personnel and plans and allocates the use of materials.
• Handles equipment such as conveyors, cranes, tractors, and trucks.
• Inspects incoming materials and verifies invoices.
• Inspects machines and directs maintenance/repair work.
• Studies production schedules and estimates worker-hour requirements.
• Interprets policies and enforces safety regulations.
• Interprets job orders and assigns duties.
• Establishes or adjusts procedures to meet schedules.
• Maintains time and production records.
• Coordinates with other supervisors across departments.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Supervisor is responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of employees and administering policies and procedures that will contribute to the site's operations running efficiently.Summary of Responsibilities:Assigns and schedules daily tasks and workloads to meet production goals.Ensures all materials, equipment, and tools are available and in working order.Confers with plant personnel and plans and allocates the use of materials.
