Job summary

Ferrous Processing and Trading, a business of Cleveland-Cliffs Steel, in Warren, MI, is seeking a Night Shift Supervisor for the SLC Recycling Industries operation. You will lead the night crew, assign tasks, manage materials and equipment, and ensure production goals are met safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities include coordinating with other supervisors, supervising maintenance, documenting time and production records, and enforcing safety regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous supervisor experience required.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Strong written and spoken communication skills.
• Analytical and decision-making abilities; able to coach and mentor.

• Ensures materials, equipment, and tools are available and in working order.
• Plans and allocates materials; handles conveyors, cranes, tractors, and trucks.

• Coordinates with other supervisors to align department activities.
• Maintains time and production records.

Ferrous Processing and Trading, a business of Cleveland-Cliffs Steel, has an immediate opportunity for a Night Shift Supervisor at our SLC Recycling Industries operation in Warren, MI. The Supervisor is responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of employees and administering policies and procedures that will contribute to the site's operations running efficiently.

Summary of Responsibilities

• Assigns and schedules daily tasks and workloads to meet production goals.
• Ensures all materials, equipment, and tools are available and in working order.
• Confers with plant personnel and plans and allocates the use of materials. Handling equipment such as conveyors, cranes, tractors, and trucks.
• Inspects incoming materials and verify invoices.
• Inspects machines and equipment and directs workers engaged in maintenance and repair work.
• Studies production schedules and estimates worker-hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
• Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
• Interprets job orders to workers and assigns duties.
• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Maintains time and production records.
• Works with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Previous supervisor experience
• Proficient in MS Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word)
• Excellent customer oral and written communication skills
• Problem-solving, analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making
