Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs in Dearborn, MI, seeks a production supervisor to oversee daily tasks, schedule activities and supervise a crew in a 24/7 operation.

You will ensure safety, quality and productivity, train employees, and coordinate with other departments. A high school diploma is required; a bachelor’s degree and steel processing or union experience are preferred. Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required or equivalent.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Steel processing experience preferred.
• Experience in a union environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedules routine activities and supervises completion of work assignments.
• Maintains discipline to meet daily production, safety and quality objectives.
• Coordinates production and maintenance with other departments; helps develop continuous improvement plans.
• Monitors site operations and ensures safety, environmental, quality and productivity standards; conducts audits.
• Leads training and performance reviews to improve overall production efficiency.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Summary of Responsibilities

• Maintains general discipline of the crew in meeting the daily production, safety and quality objectives. Instructs personnel in job requirements, company rules and practices.
• Coordinates production and maintenance activities with different departments, assists in developing continuous improvement plans.
• Monitors site's operation, adheres to safety, environmental, quality, and productivity performance standards and performs regular audits.
• Leads employees' training and performance review programs. Improves overall production, processes and services efficiency.
• Other duties as assigned.
