Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a store leader to plan, direct, and supervise day-to-day operations, mentoring team members and driving excellent customer service and sales. You will manage staffing, ensure adherence to standards, and support promotions while maintaining store appearance and a safe, productive environment.

The role emphasizes coaching, training, and executing strategies to improve performance and customer experience, with responsibility for P&L and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• At least 1 year of management experience.
• Experience in staffing and in-store operations helpful.
• Strong communication and conflict resolution skills required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in daily store operations.
• Mentor and coach staff; support career development and promotions.
• Implement strategies to improve customer service and sales.
• Maintain store appearance and adherence to company standards.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions; support promotion decisions.
• Manage P&L, achieve sales targets and control shrink.
• Ensure staff are trained and deliver exceptional service.
• Promote Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings.
• Maintain safe work environment and reliable attendance.
