Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking an Area Leader to oversee engagement and performance for a span of care in the North Indianapolis market.

You will drive recognition, feedback and coaching, performance management, training and development, and succession planning to optimize area operations and financials. You will direct Leads and Team Leaders while ensuring safety, scheduling, and continuous improvement in processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members with clear, precise direction.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions.
• Commitment to safe work practices at all times.
• Ability to foster an inclusive environment for team members and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Engages with team members to ensure onboarding, training, development, coaching and feedback.
• Identifies talent and supports staffing for team member and leadership roles.
• Conducts candid discussions to uphold Meijer standards and career growth.
• Oversees area operations and financial results, managing budgets and forecasting staffing.
• Drives safety, compliance, and store condition management.
• Directs Leads and Team Leaders in daily work assignments and training needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
