Job summary

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, disinfect and clean a variety of reusable surgical instruments using mechanical or handwashing methods per OSHA standards.
• Demonstrate knowledge of sterilization processes for steam and chemical indicators and proper documentation and storage.
• Enter, modify and search instrument data in the tracking system and assist with surgical case preparation.
• Transfer, store and transport sterile packages following infection control guidelines.
• Interact with vendors and surgical reps for loaner trays and CEU processing.
• Follow AAMI and AORN standards and promote best practices.
• Provide high-quality customer service to operating rooms and external clinics and support training of peers.
