Job summary

OhioHealth in Ohio is seeking a Night Shift Sterile Processing Technician (Non-Certified) to support decontamination, cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments, endoscopes and power equipment. You will prepare instrumentation, conduct quality control checks, maintain records, and assist operating rooms and external customers.

Responsibilities include instrument tracking, adherence to OSHA standards, knowledge of steam and chemical sterilization, and training peers in best practices.

Qualifications

• Must exhibit strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrate ability to work well with others as part of a team.
• Requires basic computer skills.
• Must be able to follow oral and written instructions, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Working knowledge of AAMI and AORN standards.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, disinfect and clean various reusable surgical instruments.
• Demonstrate knowledge of sterilization processes (steam and chemical) and monitoring systems.
• Enter, modify and search instrument tracking information.
• Adhere to infection control guidelines during handling of sterile packages.
• Interact with external customers, vendors, and surgical reps for processing loaner trays and CEUs.
