Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System is seeking an Instrument Technician Non-Certified to support reprocessing of reusable general hospital and surgical equipment, including advanced surgical and orthopedic instruments. This role emphasizes service excellence, safety, and accurate documentation within a team environment.

The incumbent will handle decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and storage processes, while ensuring proper case cart preparation and adherence to organizational quality assurance

Qualifications

• Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
• License/Certification: N/A
• Experience: Preferred, but not required.
• Strong communication skills.
• Good mathematical ability.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Performs decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and sterile storage processes.
• Performs case cart preparation using appropriate pick sheets/preference cards.
• Upholds Mount Carmel Service Excellence Behavior Standards and professional conduct.
• Promotes a Culture of Safety and patient-centered care.
• Works independently in multiple surgical specialties with minimal supervision.
• Maintains accurate quality assurance documentation and inventory control.
