Job summary

OhioHealth is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician who will work the night shift to support sterile instrument processing in a hospital setting. The role involves cleaning, decontamination, packaging, and maintaining sterilization records while providing service to operating rooms and external customers.

Responsibilities include following AAMI/AORN guidelines, documenting activities, and participating in education and training of colleagues.

Qualifications

• Requires reading, writing and math normally acquired through high school education.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, disinfect and clean reusable surgical instruments using appropriate methods.
• Maintain documentation and operate sterilization indicators and monitoring systems.
• Enter and retrieve instrument data in the tracking system and assist with case preparation.
• Handle sterile packages with infection control guidelines during transfer and storage.
• Coordinate with operating rooms and external customers for loaner trays and CEU reception.
