Job summary

OhioHealth in Columbus, OH is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Technician to handle decontamination, cleaning, and sterilization of surgical instruments and endoscopes. You will prepare and package instrumentation, maintain sterilization records, and assist with training fellow staff.

The role requires a CBSPD/IAHCSMM certification and a high standard of infection control. Responsibilities include instrument tracking, case preparation, and ensuring safe handling of sterile packages for

Qualifications

Must have strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to follow oral and written instructions and perform basic math calculations.
Working knowledge of AAMI and AORN standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

Decontaminate, disinfect, and clean reusable surgical instruments.
Perform sterilization using steam and chemical methods with proper documentation.
Enter, modify, and search instrument tracking system accurately.
Prepare instruments and supplies for scheduled cases or requests.
Transport sterile packages and maintain proper storage conditions.
Interact with vendors and surgical representatives for loaner trays and CEUs.
Follow industry standards and best practices in line with AAMI and AORN.
Support education and training of fellow staff.
