Job summary

AdventHealth in Daytona Beach, FL is seeking a Sterilization Technician to support the sterile processing area during night shifts. You will handle instrument sets, ensure sterility, and operate decontamination equipment in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities include assembling instrument sets, maintaining logs, and collaborating with departments to ensure patient safety. Prior sterile processing experience is preferred and full benefits apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical or vocational training preferred.
• Experience with sterile processing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Select materials and packaging for instrument sets to maintain aseptic technique.
• Ensure sterility indicators and lot stickers on all instrument sets.
• Operate sterilization equipment per manufacturer instructions.
• Review sterilizer charts and logs to verify proper parameters.
• Maintain records in log books or computer systems.
• Identify reusable items for decontamination and cleaning per guidelines.
• Disassemble and inspect items for damage.
• Assemble instruments and instrument sets accurately in tracking systems.
• Follow recall processes for sterilization failures and notify supervisors.
• Communicate with hospital departments to resolve issues.
• Participate in training and rotate through departments.
