Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for the night shift to ensure instruments and equipment meet the highest quality and safety standards. The role involves receiving, cleaning, decontaminating, and sterilizing medical instruments, and preparing packs for the Central Sterile Supply department.

Candidates must have at least 1 year of sterile processing experience and CRCST/CSPDT certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of sterile processing experience.
• Must retain knowledge of instrument handling and care.
• Basic computer skills and ability to scan/barcode systems.

Responsibilities

• Receive, clean, decontaminate, and sterilize instruments and supplies per policies.
• Operate washer/decontaminator, cart washer and ultrasonic cleaner.
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness and functionality and restock as needed.
• Prepare instrument packs, wraps, and trays for sterile processing.
• Monitor sterilizers (steam, gas plasma, peracetic acid) and document results.
• Document procedures and communicate effectively with OR and supply staff.
