Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support the hospital's instrument reprocessing workflow. You will review schedules, assemble instrument sets, sterilize equipment, and maintain records according to standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 1 year of hospital Sterile Reprocessing experience (preferred), and a sterile processing certification (preferred). Monday through Friday, night shift coverage.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
Experience: One year in a hospital Sterile Reprocessing Department, preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Sterile processing tech certification, preferred.
Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete skills validation and competency testing.
Full-time Work schedule: Monday thru Friday 10:30pm-7:00am

Responsibilities

Assessment: Reviews surgical schedule to identify patient/procedure needs.
Planning: Collaborates with Coordinators to ensure availability of instruments.
Processing: Disassembles, cleans, inspects and sterilizes instruments per standards.
Coordination: Assists in inventory and maintenance of instruments and supplies.
Communication: Keeps staff informed of updates/issues and resolves unit problems.
