Job summary

Cheney Brothers, Inc. in Charleston, SC is seeking a Shuttle Driver to transport empty trailers to warehouse locations and deliver full trailers to domicile/shuttle yards, ensuring safety and DOT compliance.

You will operate tandem tractors and straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes, perform pre/post trip inspections, manage paperwork, and maintain secure, timely deliveries on a 3rd shift schedule Sunday–Thursday with potential Friday deliveries.

Qualifications

• 12+ months of commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement.
• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Work a 3rd shift schedule, Sunday–Thursday nights.
• Pre-employment drug test and road test.
• DOT Health Card current or able to secure one.
• Able to lift 60–90 pounds and handle equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety checks (pre/post trip) per DOT regulations.
• Inspect and ensure trailer load securement and proper paperwork.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safety policies; report hazards.
• Deliver trailers per route schedule; perform hook/unhook procedures.
• Park and store tractors/trailers in designated areas; keep areas clean.
