Job summary

Cheney Brothers, Inc. in Savannah, GA is seeking a Shuttle Driver to transport empty trailers to Operating Company warehouses and return with full trailers to domicile/shuttle yards.

You will operate tandem, tractor, or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes, adhering to DOT regulations and company safety standards. Responsibilities include safety inspections, paperwork, route driving, and unloading duties, with a schedule of Sunday–Thursday plus Fridays for special deliveries.

Qualifications

• 12+ months of commercial driving experience.
• CDL A with Doubles Endorsement.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Meet state licensing/certification requirements where applicable.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• DOT Health Card valid or able to secure one.
• Able to lift 60–90 pounds and operate equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety checks and pre/post trip inspections per DOT regulations.
• Report safety issues and needed repairs.
• Follow DOT rules and company safety policies; report hazards.
• Inspect trailers for proper load security and paperwork.
• Drive and deliver trailers per route schedule; lock and park equipment.
• Load/unload, handle damaged goods, and complete required paperwork.
• Maintain daily hours of service records as required.
• Maintain clean tractor/trailer areas and perform other duties as assigned.
