Job summary

bioMérieux in Durham, NC seeks a Maintenance Tech 3 on the night shift to lead advanced maintenance of manufacturing equipment and process systems. You will diagnose, repair, and optimize complex mechanical and electrical equipment, while mentoring junior technicians to uphold reliability and safety.

The role emphasizes root-cause analysis, continuous improvement, and strict adherence to FDA, GMP, and ISO standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• 3+ years of related experience with intermediate to advanced level troubleshooting, schematic and print reading, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and controls experience required.
• Associate’s degree preferred with experience in electro-mechanical, high-speed manufacturing maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical systems
• Experience working in a cGMP/Regulated environment desired
• Able to read ladder logic and troubleshoot/repair PLCs, electrical systems, AC/DC drive systems, and mechanical systems desire
• Proficiency in machining, welding, and fabricating a plus
• Basic Computer Skills required; must be experienced and proficient in the use of email, Windows Operating Systems, and basic Microsoft Office tools (specifically Word & Excel)

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced preventive and corrective maintenance on sophisticated manufacturing equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and automated systems independently
• Contribute to root-cause analysis efforts to prevent recurring equipment issues
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to entry-level technicians
• Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with FDA regulations, GMP, ISO standards, and safety protocols
• Utilize and maintain accurate records in computerized maintenance management systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime
• Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
