Qualifications

• One year of work experience in a manufacturing/production setting.
• Knowledge of safety standards applicable to manufacturing environments.
• Basic math skills to add/subtract and measure materials.
• Ability to read and follow production schedules and specs.
• Capable of lifting heavy material (>50 lbs) and performing physical tasks.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve pressed laminate from breakdown holding area.
• Operate table lift to position material for sanding.
• Activate feed line, edge routing and end cut.
• Insert laminate into the sander and cut to size.
• Adjust machine controls as required for proper sanding.
• Lay off exiting laminate sheets to the lay off table.
• Conduct visual quality checks during sanding.
• Inspect material against specifications and defects.
• Move imperfect products to defect area for review.
• Place finished product in holding area for Finished Goods.
• Document production schedule and material waste.
• Maintain safety by using protective equipment and mass-limited handling.
• Perform lock-out/tag-out procedures and preventative maintenance checks.
• Provide on-the-job training to department personnel.
