Job summary

Louisiana Bridge Builders in Lake Charles, LA, is seeking a Safety Field Coordinator (Nights) to support the field construction team with safety programs, inspections, and incident response.

Most duties involve coaching site supervisors, leading JHAs and toolbox talks, ensuring OSHA compliance, and maintaining safety records across a night shift, with a focus on building a safety-first culture.

Qualifications

• Requires CHST certification or related associate degree and 5+ years safety experience in heavy civil construction.
• 7+ years experience if only high school diploma.
• Knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, EPA, and DOT regulations; OSHA-500 certification preferred or able to obtain.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with construction and field teams on safety matters.
• Perform daily field inspections and manage PPE allocation.
• Coach field supervisors and craft personnel.
• Participate in incident investigations and apply lessons learned.
• Lead job hazard analyses (JHAs) and toolbox talks.
• Maintain safety documentation and records.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure adherence to safety standards.
