Job summary

Louisiana Bridge Builders is seeking a Safety Field Coordinator (Nights) to support field construction teams from Lake Charles, LA. The role focuses on safety leadership for the night shift, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies while coordinating with project management and subcontractors.

The ideal candidate will bring CHST certification or related degree and 5+ years of safety experience on large civil/bridge projects, plus OSHA/DOT regulatory knowledge and a valid

Qualifications

• CHST certification or associates degree in safety management, occupational health, environmental science, or related field.
• 5+ years of direct safety experience in heavy civil construction projects including heavy highway and bridge mega projects.
• Knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, EPA, and DOT regulations; OSHA-500 certification preferred; valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Liaison with construction and field teams on safety matters.
• Perform daily field inspections and manage allocation of PPE.
• Coach and mentor field supervisors and craft personnel.
• Participate in incident investigations, apply lessons learned, and promote best safety practices.
• Develop and enforce site-specific safety plans and procedures.
• Lead job hazard analyses, risk assessments, and toolbox talks.
• Maintain safety documentation and coordinate with subcontractors to ensure safety standards.
