Job summary

Louisiana Bridge Builders is seeking an O&M Laborer - Lead to support traffic management and construction activities at the Lake Charles project site. The role involves directing traffic, managing temporary work zones, and coordinating with foremen and crew members.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years in construction lead labor with traffic management experience, a valid driver's license, and certification to operate motorized equipment.

Qualifications

• Requires 3+ years of related general construction lead laborer experience with traffic management experience.
• Must have a valid and current driver's license.
• Ability to pass traffic management training courses and obtain certification to operate motorized equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear instructions and updates to superiors and laborer team members.
• Set up, maintain, and remove temporary work zones with warning signs, traffic cones, and rumble strips.
• Direct traffic using hand signals and radios to manage flow on a single lane.
• Position warning and detour signs around the project area.
• Direct traffic at construction sites to ensure safety of workers and the public.
• Set up and remove traffic control devices such as cones, signs, and barricades.
• Assist with preparing the construction site by loading/unloading materials and erecting scaffolding.
• Operate motorized equipment including skid steer and forklift.
• Dig trenches, compact earth, and backfill holes.
• Load/unload materials and equipment; clean up site daily.
• Maintain awareness of concurrent site activities and communicate with foremen.
