Job summary

Methodist Midlothian Medical Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care for adults and neonates. The role includes ABG testing, ventilator support, oxygen and aerosol therapies, and airway maintenance, under medical director guidance.

You will perform diagnostic procedures (ABG, PFT, ECG) and interpret imaging and patient data. The position emphasizes infection control, safety, and quality assurance within a busy hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the Texas Medical Board.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• At least 6 months of respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics, including oxygen administration and weaning, aerosol and humidity therapy, IPPB, incentive spirometry, airway maintenance and chest physical therapy.
• Performs and reports prescribed cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures such as ABG, pulse oximetry, PFTs and ECG.
• Interprets CXR, ABG and PFT data when reviewing patient information.
• Assembles, checks, operates and troubleshoots cardiopulmonary equipment including ventilators and gas delivery devices.
• Participates in infection control, safety and quality assurance initiatives.
• Maintains and cleans all cardiopulmonary equipment and work areas.
