Job summary

Methodist Midlothian Medical Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide respiratory care for adults and neonates, including ABG, PFTs, and ventilator support. The role involves airway maintenance, oxygen therapy, and aerosol treatments under indirect supervision.

Candidates must graduate from an accredited Respiratory Care Program, hold BLS and ACLS certifications, Texas licensure, NBRC registration, and have at least 6 months of experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support certification required.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required.
• NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support— must obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Currently licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• At least 6 months respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration and weaning, aerosol therapy, and lung expansion therapies.
• Performs and reports arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, pulmonary function studies, and ECGs.
• Conducts bedside respiratory assessments, reviews medical records, and documents treatment plans.
• Interpretation of CXR, ABG, and PFT data.
• Assembles and maintains cardiopulmonary equipment.
• Participates in infection control, safety, and quality assurance.
