Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to perform direct patient care in respiratory therapy, consulting with physicians on treatment effectiveness and acting as a resource for the care team. The role requires NBRC RRT certification and a state-licensed RCP, with ACLS preferred for advanced critical care support.

Qualifications

• Graduate of CoArc-approved Respiratory Care program.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license as per state requirements.
• No prior experience required for this role.
• PALS may be required for ER staff.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care per physician orders.
• Consults physicians on effectiveness of therapy and outcomes.
• Acts as advanced resource person for physicians and nursing staff on respiratory care.
• Performs duties as assigned by supervision.
