Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a skilled Respiratory Therapist to provide expert respiratory care in a clinical setting. You will administer oxygen delivery, manage ventilation support, and perform diagnostic procedures while ensuring patient safety and compliance with hospital policy.

Required NBRC-credentialed RRT, active state license, and BLS. Associate's degree in respiratory therapy; BA/BS preferred. Night shifts with on-campus benefits and professional growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in respiratory therapy is required; BA/BS preferred.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required by NBRC and current license in the state of work.
• Basic Life Support for healthcare providers (BLS) through AHA required; advanced certification per facility.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of oxygen delivery modes and related equipment.
• Administers and evaluates therapeutic procedures for oxygenation and ventilation.
• Monitors and maintains mechanical and non-invasive ventilators; conducts diagnostic procedures per policy.
• Evaluates current therapies and recommends plans of care and patient education.
• Documents therapy results and communicates with care team; uses EMR proficiently.
• Performs emergency respiratory care and blood gas analysis; interprets results.
