Job summary

Methodist Southlake Medical Center in North Texas is seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide adult and neonatal care. You will perform ABG, PFTs, and ventilator support, with focus on assessment, therapy, and patient safety under medical director oversight.

The role requires graduation from an accredited respiratory care program, current BLS and ACLS, and NBRC registration, plus Texas licensure.

Qualifications

• Requires graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.
• Current Advanced Cardio Life Support certification.
• NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• At least 6 months respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration and weaning, aerosol and humidity therapy, IPPB, Incentive Spirometry, airway maintenance, bronchial hygiene, chest physiotherapy, CPR and mechanical ventilation.
• Performs and reports prescribed cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures including arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, pulmonary function studies, and electrocardiograms.
• Prepares a treatment evaluation including bedside respiratory assessment, patient interview and review of medical record.
• Interprets CXR, ABG and PFT data when reviewing patient records.
• Assembles, checks, operates and troubleshoots cardiopulmonary equipment such as ventilators and gas analyzers.
• Maintains infection control, safety and quality assurance tasks.
• Cares for cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work areas.
