Job summary

Methodist Richardson Medical Center in Dallas, part of Methodist Health System, seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to perform respiratory therapies and diagnostics for adult and neonatal patients. The role requires eligible licensure in Texas, NBRC registration, and adherence to hospital protocols.

The RRT will assess and treat patients under supervision, maintain equipment, and participate in infection control and quality initiatives. Night shift coverage is included.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Current ACLS certification required.
• NRP and Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
• Licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the Texas Medical Board.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• At least 6 months respiratory care experience preferred; new grads welcome.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapies including oxygen, aerosol therapy, humidification and airway management.
• Conduct arterial blood gases, PFTs, and cardiopulmonary diagnostics as prescribed.
• Prepare treatment evaluations with patient assessment and chart review.
• Interpret CXR, ABG, and PFT data and adjust therapy accordingly.
• Maintain and troubleshoot cardiopulmonary equipment and supplies.
• Adhere to infection control, safety and quality assurance protocols.
