Job summary

MU Health Care’s University Hospital in Columbia, MO seeks a compassionate RN to join the Vascular Access team for full-time night shifts. This on-site role involves assessing and meeting diverse patient needs, managing pain, administering medications, and educating patients and families.

You will collaborate with physicians, nursing supervisors, and a multi-disciplinary team to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Missouri Board of Nursing RN license or multi-state RN via the Nurse Licensure Compact.
• Minimum of 1 year RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition, set goals, and plan nursing actions.
• Assess, intervene, and reassess patient pain using standard scales.
• Educate patients and families about medications and side effects.
• Evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and maintain hospital standards.
• Participate in meetings, in-services, and quality improvement activities.
• Communicate observations to physicians and nursing supervisors; document clearly.
• Provide holistic care with a multi-disciplinary team.
