University of Maryland Medical System Corporation is seeking a Vascular Access nurse for St. Joseph Medical Center. The role entails autonomy within a multidisciplinary care team and offers a broad scope of vascular access skills while modeling best practices.

The position involves night shifts, 3 shifts of 12 hours, rotating weekends and holidays, with Maryland RN licensure and BLS required. Expect opportunity to educate patients and staff on vascular access and participate in emergency

Competenze

• Strong knowledge of vascular anatomy and physiology.
• Proficiency with ultrasound-guided IV insertion.
• Familiarity with central line maintenance bundles and CLABSI prevention.
• Excellent critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

Mansioni

• Insert and maintain devices such as peripheral IV catheters and midline catheters.
• Respond as a member of the Emergency Response Team and place intraosseous needle when needed.
• Treat vesicant extravasations.
• Maintain a CLABSI free environment.
• Assist with central venous catheter management.
• Educate patients and staff on vascular access device best practices.
