Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 3-night shift with a strong focus on direct patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting in Massachusetts. The role emphasizes adherence to the nursing process, patient safety, and collaborative care with the multidisciplinary team.

The position requires MA nursing licensure and BLS; ACLS is preferred. A $6,000 sign-on bonus is available for external new hires; details discussed during interview.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
• BLS is a requirement for every RN unless ACLS certification is current, in addition to unit specific certifications and competencies.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Nursing Process for patient care from admission to discharge.
• Performs patient assessment and reassessment.
• Develops and coordinates individual plan of care including discharge planning.
• Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluate nursing care within assigned clinical setting.
• Delgates appropriately to others in accordance with job description and competency level.
• Documents patient care according to standard procedure.
• Develops, implements/coordinates and documents Education Plan for patient/family/ significant other.
• Ensures quality and continuity of care through collaboration with other health care providers.
• Administers medications, performs treatments, therapies and operates equipment according to policy and procedure.
• Participates in and supports Nursing Governance activities.
• Assumes responsibility for professional growth. Assists in education and development of staff.
• Participates in performance improvement initiatives and demonstrate the use of quality improvement in daily operations.
