Qualifications

Minimum two years post-licensure acute care nursing experience.
Graduation from a National League of Nursing Accredited School of Nursing; BCLS certification required.
Current license to practice as a registered nurse in New York State.
Preferred: 5 years nursing experience with at least 3 years in labor and delivery; MSN/RNC-OB/C-EFM/OBE and BLS/NRP certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

Serve as unit educator or department educator; supervise RNs and ancillary staff.
Provide orientation and preceptorship for new nursing personnel; document competencies.
Develop, implement, and evaluate unit-specific orientation and in-service programs.
Educate staff on clinical skills and equipment; assess learning needs and outcomes.
Coordinate patient care delivery across disciplines and participate in discharge planning rounds.
