Job summary

Stony Brook Southampton Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse - North 3, Full Time Night shift. The role leads a nursing team, plans and supervises patient care, administers medications, and educates patients and families within a collaborative hospital setting.

Requirements include NY RN licensure, BSN within 10 years, BLS & PALS, and ACLS within 3 months (PALS/ACLS for new grads within 6 months). Expected duties cover care coordination, discharge planning, and infection control.

Qualifications

• RN license to practice in New York State.
• BSN required by NY law within 10 years of initial RN licensure.
• Current BLS & PALS from American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
• New Grad: PALS and ACLS within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition and needs; coordinate care with other disciplines.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans including discharge planning.
• Administer direct patient care and medications.
• Maintain infection control and safe environment.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to RN charge/clinician.
• Document patient teaching and ensure physician-aligned instructions.
• Collaborate with staff and other departments.
• Participate in quality assurance activities.
