Job summary

Stony Brook Southampton Hospital seeks a Registered Nurse to diagnose, treat, and support healing through nursing care, teaching, and counseling. The role emphasizes coordination with multidisciplinary teams and adherence to a medical regimen.

The ideal candidate will hold NYS RN licensure, current BLS/ACLS, NRP within 3 months, and experience in Labor and Delivery or Postpartum. On-call responsibilities are required, with BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current NYS RN license or eligibility.
• BLS provider certification from American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification from American Heart Association.
• NRP certification within 3 months of hire.
• Prior Labor and Delivery or Postpartum experience.
• On-call availability is required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition and coordinate care with other health disciplines.
• Develop written care plans including discharge planning.
• Administer direct care as needed and administer medications.
• Maintain infection control and safe environment.
• Communicate patient changes to Charge RN/Clinician.
• Maintain current written plan of care and set patient goals.
• Document teaching and patient understanding in medical records.
• Collaborate with staff and other departments.
• Participate in quality assurance activities.
