Job summary

Parkland Health is seeking an experienced RN for the Neonatal Nursery on the night shift. The role involves coordinating patient care using the Parkland model, assessing neonates, and developing care plans with the health care team.

Candidates must be licensed RNs with NRP, BLS, and at least two years of nursing experience, ready to work in a fast-paced hospital setting. Responsibilities include direct patient care, documentation, and acting as a preceptor or Charge Nurse as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must have current RN license or valid Texas Board of Nursing license; or a valid Compact RN license.
• Must have current healthcare provider BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from AHA/Red Cross/Military.
• Must have Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification upon hire.
• May be required to have additional specialty certifications.
• Must have two years of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for patients while respecting rights, confidentiality, and cultural preferences.
• Provide nursing care per standards, participate in care team handoffs and rotations as Charge Nurse.
• Perform patient assessments, monitor changes, and implement orders in a timely manner.
• Support newborn care, breastfeeding education, and safe medication administration.
• Document accurately in patient records and maintain compliance with policies.
• Serve as a preceptor or trainer and participate in in-service education.
