Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current Texas RN license; BLS and ACLS as required.
• Willing to cross-train and train for charge nurse duties.
• Preceptor role after two years; hospital experience preferred.
• Strong verbal/written English and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation.
• Implement physician orders safely and accurately.
• Assist with admitting, discharging and transferring patients.
• Transcribe and implement new physician orders.
• Maintain detailed and accurate nursing records.
• Provide health education and emotional support to patients and families.
• Make rounds, prioritize patient needs, and maintain unit safety.
• Administer medications and therapies within scope of practice.
• Develop and modify care plans in line with facility policies.
