Job summary

Northwest Medical Center in Tucson is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for full-time night shift in the Clinical Decision/Observation unit. You will provide patient-centered care per nursing process, coordinate with the care team, and support families through education and discharge planning.

The role emphasizes high standards of safety, infection control, and collaboration with physicians and nurses to achieve optimal patient outcomes in a busy observation unit.

Qualifications

• RN with active state license and/or compact licensure.
• BCLS, ACLS required; PALS preferred.
• 1+ years telemetry/cardiac/observation experience preferred.
• NMC unit-specific guidelines may apply.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings.
• Administer medications and monitor for adverse effects.
• Assist physicians during procedures within competency.
• Develop, implement and evaluate care plans with the team.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in CPR/code team activities.
• Educate patients and families on conditions and post-discharge care.
