Job summary

Prime Healthcare's Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Newborn Nursery. This full-time night shift position provides specialized care to newborns and supports new parents in early infancy care.

The RN will deliver safe patient care using the nursing process, collaborate with the care team, and respond quickly to changes in condition, from post-delivery stabilization through discharge.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current and valid RN license issued by the State.
• BCLS certification required on hire and maintained.
• NRP certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Respond quickly to changes in condition and maintain a safe environment.
• Use the chain of command to ensure patient well-being from post-delivery stabilization through discharge.
