Job summary

Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco, Texas seeks a Registered Nurse to deliver safe patient care using the nursing process in the Birthplace setting. You will provide direct care and guide patient and family teaching while maintaining professional standards.

As a Per Diem nurse on the Day shift, you will respond quickly to changing conditions, support other nursing staff, and ensure high-quality care for mothers and newborns.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BSN degree preferred.
• BLS certification within 30 days and maintain current.
• ACLS certification within 90 days and maintain current.
• NRP certification within 90 days and maintain current.
• Basic Fetal monitoring within 60 days of hire and maintain current.
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certificate within 12 months.
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certificate preferred.
• STABLE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
