Job summary

ProMedica Defiance Regional Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Med Surg Unit. This part-time night shift role requires compassionate, patient-centered care across adults and geriatrics, with emphasis on coordination of care, safety, and excellent communication with patients, families, and staff.

The RN will assess and plan care, participate in interdisciplinary rounds, and maintain professional standards. Ohio licensure and CPR/ACLS are expected, with ongoing education requirements.

Qualifications

• Current State license as a Registered Nurse.
• Current CPR training.
• Specialty certifications as required by individual nursing units.
• The RN in Ohio must complete 24 contact hours of continuing education.
• At least 1 hour of contact hours must relate to Ohio nurse practice code/rules.
• Maintains BCLS and other certifications required by the job (e.g., ACLS).
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care across age groups per departmental standards.
• Coordinate patient care through shift-to-shift communication.
• Utilize infection control techniques and critical thinking in all care.
• Initiate emergency care when necessary and educate patients/families.
• Follow chain of command and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Show professionalism and ongoing self-review of practice.
