Job summary

Medical City Dallas is seeking a Registered Nurse for the night shift (7:00pm–7:00am) with rotating weekends. You will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care, collaborate with providers, and advocate for patients and families.

Must graduate from an accredited nursing program and hold a TX or compact RN license, with BLS certification and 1 year acute care experience preferred. The role emphasizes mentoring and adherence to nursing models (Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage) to ensure

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Professional Nursing.
• Associate’s Degree okay to start, Bachelors Degree required within 24 months of hire into RN position.
• Current RN license in the State of TX or compact license.
• Current BLS issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
• 1 year acute care experience in area/unit highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient’s medical record.
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
• Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
