Job summary

Medical City Dallas is seeking an experienced registered nurse for the Night shift (7:00pm - 7:00am) to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care within our Enhanced Surgical Recovery program. Nurses collaborate with providers to ensure outstanding outcomes and compassionate care in a leading hospital system.

Candidates must hold an accredited nursing degree, texas or compact RN license, and BLS. BSN within 24 months of hire is required, with at least one year of acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Associates Degree okay to hire, BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position.
• Current RN license in the state of Texas or compact license.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) issued by AHA or Red Cross.
• 1 year acute care hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patients medical record.
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
• Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patients medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
