Job summary

Rockport Healthcare Services in California is seeking a full-time NOC Shift RN to provide direct nursing care in a long-term care setting under the direction of the Director of Nursing Services. The RN must graduate from an accredited nursing program, hold an active California license, CPR certified, and demonstrate leadership, communication, and strong clinical judgment to develop and execute care plans.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN school of nursing.
• Current nursing license in good standing with the State licensing board.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills; ability to provide quality patient care.
• Possess critical thinking to analyze, synthesize, and evaluate clinical data.
• Comprehensive knowledge of nursing principles and practices to ensure quality care.
• Willingness to work with professional and nonprofessional personnel; fluent English.
• Valid CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care as prescribed by physician and within standards of care.
• Administers professional services to promote residents’ well-being.
• Admits, transfers, and discharges residents per policy.
• Orients new residents and families as needed.
• Transcribes orders and reviews patient status with team at shift start.
• Maintains clean, safe unit for resident comfort.
• Conducts daily rounds to assess status and adjust care.
• Documents assessments, interventions, and patient responses.
• Updates plans of care and transcribes orders as needed.
• Assists in rounds with attending physician and administers medications.
• Monitors progress and reports adverse reactions; ensures narcotics are secure.
• Orders medications, supplies, and equipment as per policies.
• Participates in care conferences and meetings; attends QA activities.
• Performs other duties and assists in supervising CNAs.
