Job summary

Rockport Healthcare Services seeks a licensed professional nurse under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide nursing care in a long-term care setting in California.

The role requires a current California nursing license, CPR certification, and strong communication and organizational skills. The nurse will admit, assess, and care for residents, document observations, administer medications, and participate in QA and infection control programs.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing or LVN program.
• Current, active nursing license in California.
• CPR certification required.
• Excellent communication and organization.
• Ability to provide quality patient care per standards.
• Ability to identify problems and apply good judgment.
• Proficiency in English (reading/writing/speaking).

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care as prescribed within scope of practice.
• Give and document patient care and observations.
• Admit/discharge/transfer residents per policy.
• Orient new residents and families.
• Maintain safe, clean unit environment.
• Record care information accurately.
• Assist with plan of care and progress evaluation.
• Take and administer medications as ordered.
• Notify physicians of condition changes.
• Participate in infection control and QA programs.
• Supervise CNAs.
• Attend facility meetings.
