Job summary

Norman Regional Health System seeks an RN for Labor & Delivery and the Newborn Transition Team (NTT). You will provide patient-centered nursing care across antepartum to immediate newborn transition, collaborating with physicians, anesthesia, neonatal teams, and pediatric providers to ensure safe, evidence-based maternal and newborn care.

The role includes caring for laboring patients, newborn transition, and family-centered couplet care following delivery; requires competency in stabilization,

Qualifications

• Diploma or ADN required; BSN preferred; MSN preferred.
• Oklahoma RN license required; BLS/NRP/ACLS certifications as applicable.
• Previous labor & delivery, postpartum, neonatal or women's services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, gynecologic, OB emergency, and newborn transition patients.
• Perform comprehensive maternal, fetal, and newborn assessments and reassessments.
• Monitor fetal heart tracings and respond to changes in maternal-fetal status.
• Assist with labor, inductions, vaginal deliveries, cesarean prep/recovery, and postpartum care.
• Serve as newborn transition nurse during deliveries and perform newborn assessments.
• Support skin-to-skin, breastfeeding initiation, and family-centered care.
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia, neonatal teams, and other departments to coordinate care.
• Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, recovery, and newborn care.
