Job summary

Tucson Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Newborn Transitional role in Labor & Delivery. This position focuses on compassionate newborn care during the critical transition from birth to postnatal life, attending deliveries and supporting families.

The ideal candidate has NICU or pediatric experience, strong clinical assessment skills, and an unwavering commitment to family-centered care in a high‑risk obstetric setting.

Qualifications

• One year of nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• BLS certification required. ACLS, PALS may be required for some departments (OR, Ambulatory Surgery, Pediatrics/PICU, PACU, GI Lab).
• Graduation from a qualified, nationally-accredited nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Attend deliveries and provide newborn care during transition from birth to postnatal life.
• Initiate Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) interventions as needed and monitor vital signs.
• Administer medications and support families during this critical period.
• Collaborate with physicians and the broader care team to ensure high-quality, individualized care.
