Job summary

The University of Maryland Medical System Corporation is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery nurse for night shifts. This role requires MD RN licensure, current BLS, and PALS certifications, with ACLS encouraged.

You will provide and coordinate patient care, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, and mentor junior staff to maintain high standards of practice. Ideal candidates have 2+ years of L&D experience, strong communication skills, and solid clinical competence, enabling safe,

Qualifications

• Maryland RN license or eligibility under MD Compact required.
• Current AHA BLS certification required.
• Current AHA PALS certification required.
• ACLS is highly recommended.
• More than 2 years of labor and delivery nursing experience preferred.
• Solid knowledge and clinical skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate independent care to patients within a clinical specialty as a fully effective team member.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to plan and coordinate care; advocate for patient/family needs.
• Demonstrate age-appropriate care based on patient development across the life span.
• Serve as a trained preceptor/coach for new nurses and students when needed.
• Participate in unit-based staff development and orientation activities.
