Job summary

Homewood Living Plum Creek is seeking aLicensed RN for a part-time night shift role to lead a dedicated nursing team in a supportive senior living environment. You will monitor resident care, coordinate with physicians, and ensure accurate charting and care plans.

Walk-in interviews are available Wednesdays from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The position requires an active RN license, 2–4 years of supervisory experience in geriatric care, and strong communication and emergency-response skills.

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in the state providing resident care.
• Two to four years' experience in a supervisory position preferably in a geriatric long term care facility.
• Possesses compassion, understanding and empathy for older persons.
• Possesses management ability including skills in written and verbal communication, good judgment and reasoning and coaching.
• Understands management, delegation and motivational concepts.
• Ability to communicate to residents, family and staff at a level they can understand.
• Must be able to react quickly and decisively in emergencies and in unexpected behavior of residents.
• Standing and walking distances constantly throughout the campus would be required during the shift in evaluating residents and supporting line staff and (at applicable facilities) coordinates the response to emergency needs of the Retirement Community.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds in assisting co-workers with resident lifts, transfers, etc. several times throughout the shift.
• Demonstrates strong conflict resolutions skills in a manner that is respectful and dignified.

Responsibilities

• Provides confidential handling of resident information, their condition, and family details.
• Adheres to Corporate and Departmental policies and procedures and standards.
• Provides appropriate staffing to ensure proper care and substitutes when needed.
• Works with attending physicians and prepares residents' charts for visits.
• Observes and communicates resident health changes to physicians and coordinates follow-up.
• Reviews medical records for timeliness and accuracy and updates care plans as needed.
• Oversees orientation of new nursing personnel on the shift.
• Ensures communication with families about resident health conditions and addresses concerns.
• Liaisons between residents, families and physician, interpreting orders and treatment plans.
• Prepares daily reports and relays significant information to the supervisor.
• Provides direct care as needed and models nursing practice per Homewood standards.
• Supervises nursing staff for safe care and proper chain of command.
• Contributes to planning and evaluating nursing care plans; uses clinical judgment.
• Reports severe issues and concerns to administration; follows reporting protocols.
• Implements emergency plans during disasters or emergencies.
• Assumes manager-on-duty responsibilities during evening/night shifts.
• Performs other functions as directed by the supervisor.
